Sage Yadavarishi was the son of another revered saint Rishyasringa. His unrelenting devotion pleased lord Narasimha so much that he appeared in five different, namely Jwala, Ugra, Yogananda, Gandabherunda and Lakshmi Narasimha. It was in a cave where the Lord gave darshan to the saint, which is now an important temple named as Pancha Narasimha Kshetram.
There are five idols, each depicting one form of Lord Narasimha inside the temple. This famous temple near Hyderabad has admirable architecture also. On the top of Sikharam, the captivating golden Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Vishnu is placed.
This chakra also has a legend behind it. As per the Chakra legend, it has moved automatically, without any external assistance, towards the direction from where pilgrims visit. Devotees visit the temple at Yadagirigutta to seek the Lord’s blessings as it is believed to cure them of various health problems.
